It’s natural to crave an update to your beauty routine come summer—but we know that for many of our guests, figuring out where to start can feel overwhelming. That’s why we decided to host our inaugural Ihloff Beauty Week Style Sessions. We offered three days of free—from free makeup lessons to free hair glossing treatments—to help inspire our guests to try fresh ideas for the summer.
If you didn’t make it, don’t worry—we’ll fill you in on what you missed and how you can make sure you’ll be the first to know about the second annual Ihloff Beauty Week. Plans are already in the works!
Three days of free
So, what was included? Our Style Sessions during Beauty Week offered a number of totally free services—including makeup applications, braids, hair glossing treatments, brow waxes, extension consultations and more. Instead of requiring appointments, we encouraged any and everyone to drop by at a time that was convenient for them. And if there happened to be a wait, we just might have been offering hand and back massages, too.
Tips to take home
To help celebrate Beauty Week, we brought in nationally renowned Aveda artists and experts. Jason Rossell-Davis, a makeup artist and esthetician who has worked with beauty industry icon Bobbi Brown and fashion designer Vince Camuto, and Katherine Purvis, who has worked in Europe and around the world, both managed to find time to swing by our salons to offer their expertise.
In case you missed it, they agreed on their top piece of beauty advice: don’t be afraid to try something new. They encouraged guests to do so by introducing them to new lip colors and products for fresh, updated looks—just in time for summer. We encourage you to do the same!
One of our current favorites? Aveda’s Nourish-Mint Rehydrating Lip Glaze. Not only does it leave a glossy, satin finish, it also moisturizes, plumps and smoothes the appearance of fine lines. Plus, it comes in 14 different shades. As for hair, Aveda just released Pramasana—a product that helps to purify the scalp by cleansing at the roots, leaving you with a stronger foundation for healthy hair. If you’re unsure or scared to try a new product, come see us. We’ll be happy to walk you through a new routine or answer any questions you might have.
Our partnership with TGAS
As an Aveda salon, we recognize the fact that the mind, body and spirit work alongside one another for whole body wellness. That’s why in addition to our style sessions, we also hosted yoga classes. We partnered with three local yoga studios—Salt Yoga, Pilates Yoga and Balance.Yoga.Barre—and hosted donation-based classes to benefit the Tulsa Girls Art School.
If you’re unfamiliar, the Tulsa Girls Art School is a wonderful organization right here in our backyard that offers visual arts training to underserved girls. The girls get to work with real life professionals (their Executive Director Matt Moffett is an artist himself) and also learn valuable life skills, including financial management. We cherish our partnership with TGAS and knew from the moment we started planning Beauty Week that we wanted to make them a part of it. Thank you so much to all of you who helped support them—next time you’re downtown, drop by our Hyatt location to see how talented the girls are. Their artwork is proudly displayed!
Stay tuned for our second annual
That’s a wrap for our Beauty Week Style Sessions! We had a wonderful three days in the salon, and we hope you did, too. (We’d love to hear your feedback!) We hope you were able to drop by, but if you weren’t, please join us next time—we’re already planning our second annual Ihloff Beauty Week. Until then, stay connected on our Facebook page, where we’ll always post the latest.
